●Beitau Park
Beitau Park was built in 1913, the early Taiso (大正) period. There were several stone humpback bridges once. Since the erosion of time, these stone humpback bridges mostly has been rebuilt, and only one still preserves its original shape. The historic stone humpback bridge is so unique that people still can’t find any bridge with the same design in Taiwan. It is a valuable symbol recording the collective historic memory in Beitau during Japanese colonization.
With diverse plants belonging to temperate and torrid zones, Beitau Park is a peaceful place for people to explore ecological secrets and beauties. There is a hot spring stream crossing the park. People may walk down to the steam bank to enjoy wild foot-soaking.
Transportation: take the Danshui Line Metro to Xinbeitau Station. Beitau Park is opposite to the station.
